Visit from Ryan and Emily

Emily and Ryan, along with the girls, came to visit Utah for the 4th of July holiday. They arrived on two different days. Ryan with Peyton and Hailey drove up on Sunday and Emily and Alexis arrived by plane on Monday. After making a quick trip to see Rachael at work, Drew and I met them at Temple Square to walk around the church art museum. Before traffic became too busy Ryan and Emily headed down to Provo to stay in Ryan’s parent’s condo.
On Wednesday, Michelle and Drew met Emily and the girls up at Temple Square to finish looking at the sites. Peyton wanted to see the grass at the top of the conference center so they ended up taking a tour. After leaving Temple Square, Michelle took them to Liberty Park to play on the playground and also get wet on the water pad. After work I met up with them at the park. The girls had a fun time running around in the water. Michelle, Emily, and I enjoyed talking with one another and watching Drew blow bubbles with his mouth. To finish the evening all of us, along with Rachael, went to our apartment to have a BBQ. The food was wonderful and we even had a little concert from the girls.

On Saturday we headed down to Provo to visit one more time with Emily and Ryan. Rachael and Steve were already down there so we had a good group. After playing a few Wii games we had a good dinner and then lit a few fireworks that Ryan had purchased. The weather was great and it was fun to watch the girls get so excited to pick out the next firework to light.

To finish off the evening we walked down the street and waited for the fireworks from the Stadium of Fire to begin. We arrived two hours before they would start and spent time eating Popsicles and talking. Drew was getting tired and got a little fussy, but soon fell asleep.

Once the fireworks started Drew got a little startled, but once he caught his eye on the flashing lights he couldn’t take his eyes off them.

Just a few minutes before the fireworks were going to end, Michelle and I headed back to the car so we could beat the traffic. The night was a success and an enjoyable experience for Drew’s first 4th of July. Thanks Emily, Ryan, and the girls for a wonderful week.

Hi guys, I wish I had known you were right there at that church, we walked right in front of you to go in to the Stadium and I would have loved to say hello. It is fun to catch up with you two. Looks like you are doing great. Margaret Taylor
