Drew

Here are just a few photos that we thought were cute of Drew.  After a long day Drew was hungry for a little snack so I gave him a few pretzels. I went to put them back in the kitchen and when I returned I found Drew like this.  He couldn't even take a bite out of the first one he put in his mouth.

Drew is always looking for a chance to relax.  The other day he put his feet up on the chair and crossed his leg while he drew pictures on his magnetic drawing board.  Michelle just loves it when he crosses his legs.  I don't know why.

I just thought I would share these cute pictures of my boy.

REAL Salt Lake Soccer Game

Michelle and I bought Utah's Pass of all Passes again this year.  One of the events we get to use it for is to see several REAL Salt Lake Soccer games.  The stadium is just a few miles from our house and we thought that Drew would enjoy the game.  We picked up our tickets earlier in the day and we were able to find good parking not too far away from the stadium.  The walk wasn't bad except for Drew wanted to walk the whole time and he doesn't walk that fast, especially in a crowd of people.

Our seats weren't too far from the field.  I really don't think there is a bad seat in the stadium.  I haven't ever been a huge soccer fan, but it was still fun to watch the game.  Both Braeden and Drew behaved themselves and didn't cause too much of a fuss.

We didn't stay for the whole game, but we enjoyed the time we had and Drew had a lot of fun eating his snacks and playing with the kids in front of us.  I hope we can make it to another game and take advantage of our passes.  We will have to invite more people to come along next time.

St. Patrick's Day Dinner

The day after St. Patrick's day we had dinner with our friends Seth and Randi.  We decided to have a green theme so we had chicken with an herb marinade, broccoli, green jello, green salad, parsley mashed potatoes, and lime crystal light.  We always enjoy having our monthly dinners with them and this one was no exception.

Drew likes to show off for the camera so he gave us a few different posses that he likes to use.  First he has a little anger, next he avoids eye contact, and then finally he gives us a smile.  I think he is one good looking and cute kid.

Here is the meal when it is all on one plate.  The only thing that you don't see is the mint with Oreo ice cream that we hand cranked, that means it was homemade, after dinner was over.  It was a lot of fun and I think we should do more of these themed dinners in the future.

Nettie's Wedding Celebration

This past weekend we were able to celebrate the marriage of Nettie to JP.  The festivities started on Thursday night with a wedding dinner, instead of a luncheon, the night before the actual wedding.  The dinner was held at one of JP's favorite Indian restaurants called Katmandu.  They don't usually hold reception parties, but since he knows the owner so well they thought they would give it a try.  They were nice enough to put a sign on the door letting people know they would stop serving the general public at a certain time and that they had a private party.  They even stayed open later than usual to accommodate the party.  Lots of family and friends were able to attend.

The food was a variety of dishes that they would normally serve during their lunch buffet.  All of it was good, but there was this vegetarian curry that was really good.  I can't remember the name of it.  At the end of the evening people were able to stand up and talk about the couple and it was great to see how adored each of them are to their family and friends.  We were able to have a good time and spend lots of time talking and enjoying each others company.  At the end of the night I was full, but there was plenty of food to take home for later.

Nettie's good friend and old co-worker was able to come down from Idaho with his wife to join in the celebration.  Kevin is one of Nettie's favorite people and I imagine it wouldn't have been the same if he hadn't made the trip down.

Friday morning came and it was great not to wake up early to make it to the temple.  The ceremony was at 11:40 am so we had plenty of time to get ready and make our way down town.  There were no major issues getting to the temple, but situating the kids in the waiting room was quite funny.  We had so may little kids running around from different families and the sitters watching them hoped they were taking care of the right kids.  The ceremony was beautiful as usual and Nettie and JP looked happy.  Once we left the temple we had some time for the kids to run around before formal wedding pictures.  We did take the time to take a few pictures of our own of as many families as we could.

After what seemed like an hour, the happy couple exited the temple with smiles.  The little nieces and nephews couldn't wait to give Nettie a hug and I thought it was nice getting a shot of JP and his brother hugging.

Drew looked really cute in his shirt and tie, so did Braeden, but he couldn't resist playing in the dirt and kneeling down on the ground and getting his new pants all dirty.

Getting all of the Martin family together is quite the challenge.  All of the kids were getting kind of cranky as well as a lot of the adults.  We are one good looking bunch of people.  I can't wait to see the real pictures taken by the professional.

That night we had the reception at Cactus and Tropical located in Draper.  It is a big green house with a lot of tropical and cactus plants.  Because the area was already so beautiful with all of the plants we didn't have to do a lot of decorating except for a few additions to the center pieces.  Although we got a late start on a few things we were able to pull things together in the end and the night was a success.  The kids had a fun time helping get the slush ready to serve.

They had an extra cake to serve to the guests, but it was such a hit they ran out early on during the reception so grandpa Woolley took the bottom layer of the cake and served it so the three teared cake was only two tears when they went to cut the cake.

The day turned out to be beautiful and the important part was that Nettie and JP were happily married.  Although it was fun the Martin's are happy that they have married off their last child.  They can now enjoy their retirement.
